Want to live in a rock star’s home? The childhood residence of The Doors frontman Jim Morrison is for sale, according to The Washington Post. Despite his larger-than-life rock status, Morrison’s childhood was rather traditional — just like the Arlington, VA home he grew up in.
Reportedly the current owners, who bought the home at 2320 N Evergreen St, Arlington VA 22207 in 2004 for $650,000, had no idea the property once housed Morrison and his family. When the Morrisons called the Cape Cod home, it had 3 bedrooms and 2 baths; in 2003, a former owner added on additional wings, bringing the bedroom count to 4 and the home’s square footage to 2,364.
The home sits on a large lot in a quiet cul-de-sac. Beyond the extensive 2003 renovation, the current owners did a massive update on the yard, creating “park-like gardens, hardscapes, decking and play area.”
Morrison and his family moved to Virginia in the late 1940s (his father was an admiral in the U.S. Navy). They moved to a few different homes while in area, but Morrison graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandra in 1961.
